See “Courageous” at First Lutheran Courageous is a new movie about four men with one calling: To serve and protect. As law enforcement officers, they face danger every day. Yet when tragedy strikes close to home, these fathers are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, and their faith. Men, please join us at 6:30 p.m. THIS THURSDAY, Feb. 9th in the youth room. The movie is rated PG-13. There will be free pizza and popcorn. The event is free and open to all men over age 14.

T.G.I.F. continues and we are still looking for volunteers to deliver baked goodies on Fridays and to bring baked goods for the construction workers next door. We need 10-12 dozen cookies/bars/mini-muffins by 9 a.m. Friday mornings each week to feed our new neighbors. Are you willing to brave the weather for a few minutes to deliver the goodies? Sign-up to plate the goodies and walk them over to the trailers in the parking lot next door from 9:15-9:45 each Friday morning. Everyone over there is so appreciative of our hard work and generosity. Sign up online or at the Narthex desk on Sunday morning.

You are invited to attend a legacy planning series at First Presbyterian Church in February.

· Sunday, Feb. 12 at noon: Focuses on strategies that can be used in legacy planning; Dave will share some real-life examples.
· Sunday, Feb. 19 at noon, will focus on an action plan for attendees to be sure their legacy plan is in good order, that they have taken care of family needs and concerns first, and will explain how they might “endow their annual support” to their favorite nonprofits.
No need to RSVP; just come to the main gathering space on the first floor at First Presbyterian, 310 5th Street SE.
Winter Weather Cancellations- It is our policy to cancel Confirmation and children’s choir rehearsal on Wednesdays if Cedar Rapids schools are closed or dismiss early due to weather. All other groups, events or services, will meet as scheduled. Use your best judgment. If you don’t feel safe going out in inclement weather, stay home. We understand, and so does God. If there are additional cancellations, we will also post them at the top of our website, or you can call the church office to be updated.
