Message: “A Closer Look at the Cross”
Synopsis: Peter sees the cross only in terms of what will take him down, what will make him less, what will subtract from his life. Rather than avoiding a crosses, Jesus invites Peter to let go of his fears and to pick up our cross, to face the challenges of following Jesus, with the promise that God’s life and promise will be found on the other side. The way of Jesus is life giving, and we find our way to the mercy and love of God, even when that journey is hard.
