Scriptures: Psalm 23; Ephesians 2:11-22 NRSV Preaching: Pastor Craig Brown Sermon: "Come Together: Tear Down this Wall" The author of this letter to the people of Ephesus reminds his audience that originally they were not part of God’s chosen people. Through Jesus’ death, however, they are included in God’s household of faith, whose cornerstone is Jesus Christ.
We have been broken apart for close to a year and half due to a pandemic, and construction. We have not seen some of the familiar faces in our church family for a long time. While God can cover any distance to connect us to each other, we may have emotionally drifted away, been left feeling isolated, or feeling a strain on our faith and our willingness to believe.
The Apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians for the discouraged that we are no longer strangers but fellow citizens with God’s people. This summer we will preach through the entire letter as we come together once again in person or in Spirit to discover at “how high and deep is the love of Christ” (Eph. 3:18) for all of us collectively as we journey together through the grand scheme of the gospel. Join with us this summer as we are Come Together in Christ.
