March 30-31, 2019

3/28/2019

This Weekend in Worship

Preaching: Pastor Steve Knudson
Sermon: “Living the Good News”
Jesus tells a parable about a son who ponders his father’s love only after he has spurned it. The grace he receives is beyond his hopes. That same grace is a crisis for an older brother who believed it was his obedience that earned his place in the father’s home. If the heavens rejoice, why is joy hard to come by in the world?
Scripture: Luke 15:1-3,11b-32 NRSV
Music: 9a: Coe Handbell Ensemble

Special Services: 5 p.m. Baptisms & Affirmation of Baptism;
9 a.m. Baptism;
11:15 a.m. Webelo Scouts "God & Family" pinning

10:15 Sunday Morning Learning

March 31, 2019 – Did Everything in the Bible Really Happen?
with Rev. Dr. Steve Knudson in the lower-level Luther Fellowship Center

Did God really mold Adam & Eve out of clay?  Was Jonah actually swallowed and spit out by a whale?  Discover how different people read the Bible as both metaphor and as literal interpretations and even if certain things never literally took place how they can still teach us something about God.

10:15 a.m. Children's Learning

It's A Milestones Weekend for PreSchool 4's through 1st Grade!
Milestones is a series of classes in which children learn about the "whos, whats, whys, and hows" of the faith, and equips parents as the primary developers of faith in their children. This weekend we ask that at least one parent/guardian of kids who are in Preschool 4's through 1st Grade accompany their children to their Sunday Morning Learning classes.
