Scriptures: Psalm 125; Ephesians 6:10-24 NRSV Preaching: Pastoral Intern Rebekah Nelson Sermon: “Come Together: Dressed as the Body of Christ” Sermon Synopsis: Paul tells us to arm ourselves with the word of God. Like a general giving a rousing speech to troops before battle, this letter closes by calling on Christians to be equipped to go out as servant ambassadors to show God's love to the world.
We have been broken apart for close to a year and half due to a pandemic, and construction. We have not seen some of the familiar faces in our church family for a long time. While God can cover any distance to connect us to each other, we may have emotionally drifted away, been left feeling isolated, or feeling a strain on our faith and our willingness to believe.
The Apostle Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians for the discouraged that we are no longer strangers but fellow citizens with God’s people. This summer we will preach through the entire letter as we come together once again in person or in Spirit to discover at “how high and deep is the love of Christ” (Eph. 3:18) for all of us collectively as we journey together through the grand scheme of the gospel. Join with us this summer as we are Come Together in Christ.
