This Weekend in Worship
Preaching: Pastor Craig Brown
Sermon: "A Mountaintop Experience" I had a homiletics teacher once who said each Sunday should be like a mountain experience for believers because we are called to go back into the valleys of life each week. Jesus' followers wanted to stay on top and even build monuments to their heroes. When our family visited Mt. Rushmore you see these monuments of great Americans but what makes America great is the people who live trenches and who work for systematic change, justice, and equality. The same could be said for our congregation and the Christian movement as a whole. Scriptures: Psalm 99; 2 Peter 1:16-21; Matthew 17:1-9 NRSV For details on our worship series & services: 10:15 a.m. Sunday Morning Learning
