This Weekend in Worship
Preaching: Pastor Craig Brown
Sermon: "Awaken to the Promise of God in Jesus" There are moments of insight when we see things for what they truly are. The word “Epiphany” means to shine a light on. In the visit of the Magi and their gifts, the light shines on this boy Jesus, and we see the promise of God. In the baptism of Jesus, a voice from heaven speaks, “You are my chosen one,” and we see the promise of God. In the story at the wedding, where Jesus turns water into wine, we see the promise of God. For us, God’s Word and Sacraments shine a light on God’s grace and mercy. We go out from worship to witness to the light of God’s promise that shines brightly in our midst. Scripture: Isaiah 60:1-6: Matthew 2:1-12 For details on the Worship Series: 10:15 a.m. Sunday Morning Learning
