Fund Appeal Core Leadership Team:
Lois Buntz  and Chris DeWolf serve as co-chairs for the Fund Appeal for First Lutheran Church. They will lead the core leadership team that includes Jenny Bosking, Judy Cheney, Mark Fersdahl, Jana Grimm, Patti Groff, Doug Johnson, Bob Koenig, John Swenson, and Tom Wolle. Pastor Craig and Pastor Steve, along with Tim Box, Director of Support Services will work with the core team, as well as the whole staff. One hundred people will be recruited to make Renewing God’s House a success.

This is a whole congregation effort. Already the core team has reached out to expand the leadership of work teams for prayer, communication, invitation, and special events that will bring about success.  We will continue to build teams in the coming weeks.

Co-chair Lois Buntz

Lois and her husband Bob have been members of First Lutheran Church for 24 years. They have both spent their careers in nonprofit organizations. The past 12 years Lois has served as CEO of United Way of East Central Iowa. During that time she led annual, capital and endowment campaigns. Currently, she is retired and consults on topics of fundraising and organizational management. Most recently she participated in the feasibility study for the capital appeal.

"The opportunity to be involved in this exciting project for First Lutheran is a great honor and privilege. I am looking forward to working with all of our members to fulfill the goals of the Renewing God's House Fund Appeal. Together, we can enhance our current ministry and expand our vibrant, caring community."  remarked Lois.

Co-chair Chris DeWolf

Chris & Suzy DeWolf were married at First Lutheran Church in 1995 and now have three teenage children.  They are principal owners of Lil’ Drug Store Products. Chris has extensive experience supporting community appeals.  He provided fundraising leadership for the Four Oaks’ Total Child Campaign and for the construction of the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.  Additionally, Chris worked closely with Lois Buntz, our other co-chair, on past United Way annual campaigns.

Chris said about the Renewing God’s House Fund Appeal: “First Lutheran Church has played a vital role in our family’s life, serving as the place of worship and community for our parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and our children.   I am honored to lend my skills and experiences to help ensure that the legacy of First Lutheran Church will continue for generations to come.”
