The work of the Holy Spirit
Jesus promised that when he was no longer with the disciples, he would send “the Spirit of truth” to be with them—and us—forever. It’s not a coincidence that the Third Article of the Creed professes belief in the church—the community gathers to hear God’s word, to receive the forgiveness of sins, and to be fed with Christ’s body and blood before being sent back into the world equipped for its mission!
The Holy Spirit is the one who calls and gathers the church, sanctifying us and creating our faith in God and Christ. The Holy Spirit completes the most personal role, sustaining us in faith!
