6th Grade- Teaching 6- Creed- How can God be “three-in-one”?
John 14:11 (NRSV) 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; but if you do not, then believe me because of the works themselves.

7th Grade- Teaching 6- Jesus- Is believing in Jesus really the only way to get to heaven?
John 12:44-47  (NRSV) Summary of Jesus’ Teaching 44 Then Jesus cried aloud: “Whoever believes in me believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me. 46 I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. 47 I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them, for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

8th Grade- Session 5: Commands
Exodus 16:4-21, Exodus 17:1-7, Exodus 20:1-21

Picture
6th Grade- Here Jesus is making some big claims about his relationship with God. What is it in the second half of the verse that helps us trust what Jesus says in the first half?

7th Grade- What does this passage seem to say about Jesus' role in our salvation?

8th Grade- Why do you think God gave the Israelites theses laws and commands? What do you think it means to live in God's ways?

6th Grade: CREED- Can it be proven that God exists?
1 John 4:7- (NRSV) God Is Love  Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

7th Grade: JESUS- Why did Jesus get baptized?
Mark 1:9-11 (NRSV)The Baptism of Jesus 9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.”

8th Grade- Exodus: 3:4-10
4 When the Lord saw that he had turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then he said, “Come no closer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” 6 He said further, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

7 Then the Lord said, “I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their sufferings, 8 and I have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the country of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 The cry of the Israelites has now come to me; I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them. 10 So come, I will send you to Pharaoh to bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt.”

6th Grade: Which is more important to you-- to believe something, or to know something? Or can they both be important?
7th Grade: What about your baptism and Jesus' baptism is the same? What about them is different? What does baptism mean to you?
8th Grade: How do you think God felt about Israel's suffering? Why do you think Moses hid his face from God?
