Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 23 June.
Last Sunday, June 14 Mike Warden and Vic Amorozo presented the Building Assessment report findings to the congregation during a special meeting between Services in the LFC downstairs. We are planning hold another session on July 19 concerning the Organ Assessment report findings from Mr. Scott Riedel…please plan to attend as these special meetings are for you and your information update as to what is happening concerning the building committee and our church. Mark your calendars and please join us.
We will meet in the LFC downstairs in between Services.
These information and educational meetings are for you! It will be your first chance to hear in person from the gentlemen who have been assessing the building and the organ/acoustics system. We do have issues that you need to hear about and as promised by me, we want to share with you what they have found.
Looking down range, after the July organ congregation information meeting, Locus architects will return on Sunday, August 30 to be formally introduced to the FLC family. The details of that day’s events are still pending, so watch The Light and other communications for updates.
The phase we are entering now will be much more active with you and the larger congregation as a whole…and I am anticipating this only to grow in the outlying months into Fall and beyond. Please keep your thinking caps on and eyes open as to how you envision our church, its mission to the wider community in strengthening God’s Kingdom and His mission and how the building plays its vital role in "the heart of the City".
Finally, a Building Committee Suggestion Box has been placed in the Narthex at the Information Desk along with an electronic version of the FLC website. We have received some very good comments from a number of you already via the Suggestion Box and those inputs have been shared with the Committee. Feel free to drop in your ideas as they pop into your mind over the coming months. Also, a web version of the Annual Meeting building committee update presentation is available on the FLC Website. Please review as this is intended to reach out to those who could not make the annual meeting in person.
A huge thank you goes out to all the folks who have responded to the suggestion box!
As a monthly reminder, we continue to receive suggestions for building improvements in the main areas of Nave, Narthex, welcoming and outside community appeal as well as the obvious issues of our roof and carpeting. We realize that the word "building" is in our committee name and your concerns have a path to Church leadership through us and the Church Council. Please keep your voice engaged by talking with any of the Committee members.
God Bless,
Tom Schamberger, Chair
