Share a high and a low from the previous week.

Answer any of the questions below to begin your discussion:
What's the main thing you're looking forward to this Christmas?
If you had to define the word generosity to someone, what would you say?
When someone talks about generosity, do you feel guilty? Why or why not?

John 3:16
NRSV-
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life."
The Message-
This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

Why is generosity different when it’s personal and you know the whole story?
Why is it hard to believe that your story is personal to God and He cares about it?
Name some ways that you’ve received generosity in your life.
If you were telling God thank you for all that He’s given you, what are 2-3                                                                   things you would list?

Lord, teach me to be generous.
Teach me to serve you as you deserve;
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will. Amen.
