Holy Week Worship Events
Please note we will have three Sunday services at 8, 9:30 & 11:15 a.m. on Palm Sunday, April 9 and Easter Sunday, April 16.
Palm Sunday, April 9
Sunday Worship at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:15 (Saturday, April 8, Worship at 5 p.m.) Palm Sunday is also when we invite children to take part in Holy Communion for the first time.
Maundy Thursday, April 13
At 12 noon and 6:30 p.m. Worship will include a sermon, communion, and individual absolution. Following the noon worship service the staff will serve a free lunch for all attendees in the fellowship hall.
Provide a Salad or Desert We ask the congregation to provide cakes and Jell-o salads for our afternoon lunch., to make this a memorable gathering. Please call or sign-up at the Welcome Desk if you can bring a cake or salad to share.
Good Friday, April 14
At 5:30 p.m., Everyone - young and old - is invited to family worship experience at 5:30 p.m.
We will sing together, hear the Cherub Children’s Choir, share the story of Jesus’ crucifixion, and spend time together traveling through prayer stations which include labyrinth walking, painting story stones, a finger-print cross and more.

Good Friday Tenebrae Service - 8 p.m.
Please join us for a very special Tenebrae service, where the combined choirs of St. Andrew Lutheran and First Lutheran Church will present “Seven Last Words” by Michael John Trotta.
The choirs and soloists will be supported by an instrumental ensemble. We will also be joined by guest baritone soloist, Michael Woodruff, a Coe College music education student. The presentation will also by enhanced by projected artwork. This is a brand new work published in 2016, and will receive its Carnegie Hall premiere on May 27, 2017.

Easter Vigil Worship, 5 p.m.,
Saturday, April 15 The extended-length vigil is when we mark the turn from the darkness of the crucifixion to the light of the Resurrection. It is a service of lessons presenting the salvation story with baptism and communion.
Easter Sunday, April 16
8:00 a.m. Traditional Worship
with the Chapel Choir, Rhapsody Ringers and Brass.
9:30 a.m. Traditional Worship with the Adult Choir, Rhapsody Ringers and Brass.
11:15 a.m. Celebration Service led by our Celebration Band.
If you arrive before the prior service has cleared, we invite you to wait in the Chapel near the main office.
