Holy Week Worship Events
Please note we will have three Sunday services at 8, 9:30 & 11:15 a.m. on Palm Sunday, March 25 and Easter Sunday, April 1.
Palm Sunday, March 25
Sunday Worship at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:15 (Saturday, March 24, Worship at 5 p.m.) Palm Sunday is also when we invite children to take part in Holy Communion for the first time.
Maundy Thursday, March 29
At 12 noon and 6:30 p.m. Worship
will include a sermon, communion,
and individual absolution.
Following the noon worship service
the staff will serve a free lunch for all attendees in the fellowship hall.
Provide a Salad or Desert We ask the congregation to provide cakes and Jell-o salads for our afternoon lunch., to make this a memorable gathering. Please call or sign-up at the Welcome Desk if you can bring a cake or salad to share.
Good Friday, March 30
At 5:30 p.m., Everyone - young and old - is invited to family worship experience at 5:30 p.m. We will sing together, hear the Cherub Children’s Choir, share the story of Jesus’ crucifixion, and spend time together traveling through prayer stations which include labyrinth walking, painting story stones, a finger-print cross and more. Join us for this unique worship experience!
Good Friday Stations of the Cross - 8 p.m.
On Good Friday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m., there will be a service of Stations of the Cross. This service includes scripture, prayers, hymns, artwork, and anthems of Johannes Brahms presented by the Adult Choir. This service takes us on Christ’s journey from the court of Pilate to Golgatha to the borrowed tomb. Please join us for this meaningful service of preparation for Christ’s resurrection.
Saturday, March 31 We’re inviting all children and their parents to a fantastic Easter celebration on Saturday, March 31 at 10 a.m. right here at FLC! Bring your Easter basket,
or decorate a bag when you get here.
We’ll begin together in the LFC with a light breakfast, then head to age-leveled areas to ‘hunt’ for Easter Eggs!
Easter Vigil Worship, 5 p.m.,
Saturday, March 31 The extended-length vigil is when we mark the turn from the darkness of the crucifixion to the light of the Resurrection. It is a service of lessons presenting the salvation story with baptism and communion.
Easter Sunday, April 1
8:00 a.m. Traditional Worship
with the Chapel Choir, Rhapsody Ringers and Brass.
9:30 a.m. Traditional Worship with the Adult Choir, Rhapsody Ringers and Brass.
11:15 a.m. Celebration Service led by our Celebration Band.
If you arrive before the prior service has cleared, we invite you to wait in the Chapel
near the main office.
