God has placed First Lutheran in the heart of the city to show God's heart for all in the city.
How do we show God’s heart for all in the city? I believe God works through people, gathered in conversation and prayer, to bring about actions and visions needed to fulfill God’s mission. On one level, our discussion is about bricks and mortar. On another level, we are naming our sense of call and place here in the heart of the city. In this process, we have learned some important questions of purpose:
We are moving from a time of discernment and discussion to a time of action. We have worked together through many stages of discussion and planning. Now we will have the privilege of working together to turn visions and dreams into reality.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Steven J. Knudson
- How shall we worship God in the heart of the city?
- How shall we offer a generous hand of welcome into community?
- How shall the building communicate our spiritual commitment to God’s mission?
We are moving from a time of discernment and discussion to a time of action. We have worked together through many stages of discussion and planning. Now we will have the privilege of working together to turn visions and dreams into reality.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Steven J. Knudson
