The elevator is located in the north entrance of church. Bathrooms are also handicap accessible. Please ask at the information desk if you need assistance helping an individual from your vehicle into the church. A wheelchair (located in the narthex coatroom) is also available for use. INFORMATION DESK & WELCOME CENTER
Are you a visitor with us? Do you have questions or need to sign up for an event? The attendant at the information desk in the narthex can help you each Sunday morning before or after worship services.
INFORMATION RACK
A large information rack behind the information desk in the narthex holds recent sermons, newsletters, pamphlets of church and community groups, devotional booklets, and much more. You'll never know all that it holds unless you take a look!
COMMUNICATION
To keep you informed of FLC ministries and events, The Light newsletter is published twice-monthly, announcements are projected on the walls 10 minutes prior to worship services, and an announcement sheet called First Lutheran Life is found in the back of each service's bulletin. FLC also reaches the community by radio each Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. on KMRY 1450 AM and via the Internet at www.firstlutherancr.org. (which you know, because you're here.)
SCHEDULING A WEDDING
Dates fill up quickly for wedding ceremonies. If you have a date in mind, please contact Vicki Hughes, recept@firstlutherancr.org in the church office, 365-1494 x.101, to find out availability. The next step is contacting a pastor to officiate your wedding.
BIRTH OF A CHILD
Please notify the church office with the announcement of your child's birth so we can share your joy. Your family will be prayed for by our prayer chain members and at weekend services, and an announcement will be made in the newsletter.
SCHEDULING A BAPTISM
Baptisms are scheduled six or seven times each year, during special seasons of the church year. Please contact Vicki Hughes, recept@firstlutherancr.org, or in the church office, 365-1494 x.101 to schedule a baptism.

Winter Weather Cancellations
It is our practice to cancel Confirmation and children’s choirs if Cedar Rapids schools are closed or dismiss early due to weather. All other groups, events or services, will meet as scheduled. Use your best judgment. If you don't feel safe going out in inclement weather, stay home. We understand, and so does God. If there are additional cancellations, we will also post them at the top of our website, or you can call the church office to be updated.
