Confirmation
is an intentional time of faith education and exploration for youth during their 6th-8th grade years. The focus of instruction for Fall of 2011 is on the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments. Confirmation is voluntary and is not a sacrament of the Lutheran church. Those choosing to participate do so as part of our lifelong calling to education and growth in God’s Word.
Confirmation runs the length of the school year starting in late August early September and ending in early May. Confirmation meets all but the last Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Participation in this ministry is required for Lutheran youth in grades 6-8 to be confirmed.

Bible Story Reading List This is the reading list of Bible stories we will be talking about this year. Students are expected to have read the stories before they come to Confirmation.
Confirmation Calendar 2011-12 This is the calendar for the 2011-12 Confirmation year. This is always subject to change.
Confirmation Memory Work This year, Confirmands are expected to memorize the 23rd Psalm and The books of the Old Testament by the end of 2011. They will then memorize John 3:16 and the Books of the New Testament by the end of April 2012. This is a copy of the memory work to use at home. The majority of the memory work will be done in small group on Wednesday nights.
Confirmation Service Project Report Form All confirmands need to complete one service project report for the 2011-12 Confirmation year and turn it in by the end of the Confirmation year using this form.
Faith Interview Form All confirmands need to complete two faith interviews. One of a family member, one of a non-family member using this form.
Menu of Opportunities 2011-12 This is the covenant that all Confirmation participants and their parents will be asked to complete and sign for the 2011-12 Confirmation year. This contains all of the requirements for the year.
2011-12 Medical Release Form All confirmands need to have a completed and notarized Medical Release on file. Please do not sign until you are in the presence of a notary.
