Confirmation
Confirmation is a relationship-based program for 6-8th graders involving music and worship, multi-media presentations, small group discussions, service projects, fellowship events, retreats, and lock-ins. Its goal is to equip youth with a basic understanding of the Bible and the Lutheran Christian heritage, help develop peer and inter-generational relationships, help youth discover how God has blessed and gifted them, and help prepare the youth to fulfill their confirmation promises and live fully as Christian adults.
Confirmation runs the length of the school year starting on the Wednesday after Rally Day and ending in early May. Confirmation meets all but the last Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Participation in this ministry is required for ELCA students in grades 6-8 to affirm their faith.

Wednesday Evening Meals
Please join us for fun and fellowship around the dinner table each Wednesday during the school year (following the Confirmation schedule). All Confirmation students and their families are encouraged to eat together in the Luther Fellowship Center. The menu offered will consist of food like pizza, sandwiches, and tacos, and will also include raw vegetables or fruit, dessert, and milk. Sack suppers may be brought by those not wishing to purchase meals at the church.
All meals must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance (by 5:00 p.m. Monday) and paid for on Wednesday night. Meals cost $4.00 per meal. For reservations, you can use the box below, call the church office (365-1494), or sign up at the narthex information desk on the Sunday before the meal.

Winter Weather Cancellations
It is our practice to cancel Confirmation and children’s choirs if Cedar Rapids schools are closed or dismiss early due to weather. All other groups, events or services, will meet as scheduled. Use your best judgment. If you don't feel safe going out in inclement weather, stay home. We understand, and so does God. If there are additional cancellations, we will also post them at the top of our website, or you can call the church office to be updated.
