Guys Get a Kick Out of Titans

Titans Game a Hit An energetic group of 16 guys from our church enjoyed taking in a Titans game at the end of March. The guys gathered in the church parking lot for a “tailgate” or grilled hamburgers then walked over to newly renovated U.S. Cellular Center to watch Cedar Rapids indoor football team. Our church got a shout out from the announcer and our name appeared on the big screen, the Titans got a win, and the guys had some good Christian bonding with each other. Thanks to The Guy Squad for planning and hosting the great cookout and game night!

Guy Squad Rolls Out Game Plan for Upcoming Year

We have a number of fun things planned to help men grow in Christ in 2014.  Check out the list to the right and join in when you can!

Eat Breakfast For a Good Cause

Big Magic Breakfast  Join us for breakfast for a good cause from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 24 at the Marriott on Collins Road for Big Brothers, Big Sisters “Big Magic” Breakfast.  Pastor Craig is the emcee this year. This is an “ask” event, meaning at the end of the morning you can make a donation to Big Brothers or you can simply go to hear more about this wonderful program changing children’s lives in Eastern Iowa.  Sign up this weekend at the sign-up table in the entry area.

Men Throw a Strike for Big Brothers

Bowling for Kids Sake A group of five young men in our church laced up their bowling shoes to help boys and girls in our community last month. Pastor Craig Brown, Kurt Pulczinski, Andy Osterkamp, Dan Wolf, & Steve Inzerello gathered at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center to benefit Big Brothers, Big Sisters of East Central Iowa.  The men’s goal was to raise $420 but ended up raising $700 to benefit this great mentor resource in our community.  The group bowled in the lane next to Nate Dunn, another young man at FLC, who participated through his company. Nate joined us for a picture and shared in the good time.
