Men of all ages of the church gather for movies, guy trips, cook-outs, service projects, and study our faith and what it means to be a Christian man. Read up below to see what's coming up next. If you are interested in getting involved contact Pastor Craig at firstname.lastname@example.org
New Book Study
Why Men Hate Going to Church Men, join us for a new book study “Why Men Hate Going to Church” by David Murrow. We’ll gather at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 in the backroom of Parlor City Pub & Eatery in NewBo for this six-week study. Cost is $15 a book. Grab a beer with us and maybe some food as we discuss the reasons why less than 40 percent of all adults in most churches today are men. Discover why the author claims this book does not call men back to the church – it calls the church back to men. This event is brought to you by The Guy Squad.
Free Books on Father’s Day Thanks to our Hope Team, we are giving away a limited number of copies of “Why Men Hate Going to Church” by David Murrow on a first-come first served basis at the Welcome Desk on June 17 & 18. Pick one up to give to the man in your life or read yourself. If you like, you can join us for book study open to all men starting 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 22 at Parlor City.
Men from our church served a white glove women's brunch before Mother's Day weekend to more than 100 women in our church. The event was sponsored by The Guy Squad.
Meet The 2017 "Guy Squad"
Our 2017 Guy Squad: L-R Josh Hetrick, Jason Truitt, Bubba Sinnott, Mark Aiels, Aaron Ashby, Dan Wolfe, Chris Carstensen, Andy Osterkamp, and Pr. Craig Brown. Not pictured is Brad Wegmann
Our men's ministry team, known as the "Guy Squad," meets every-other month to plan movie nights, fun trips, book studies, and service projects. We intentionally try to engage men in their 20's, 30's, and 40's who traditionally haven't had a strong interest in church and meet them on their level.
Men's Hockey Night
We had a fun night cheering on the Rough Riders to victory back in January. We filled a luxury box with 20 guys from church and friends, shared a few adult beverages, and built some friendships.
Star Wars Celebration
About 40 people of all ages from the church gathered in December of 2015 to dissect scripture and movie clips detailing the fall of Anakin Skywalker and his redemption through his son, Luke, much like the fall of humanity and our redemption through the work on the cross through God’s son, Christ.
