Welcome, to FAFQ's (Frequently Asked Faith Questions)! In my years of ministry I've had students (and adults) ask me all kinds of questions. Here are just a few of them. All the questions come from you, and I'm looking for more. The answers provided are my own, and there is every probability that I am wrong. However, I hope what I say will give you something to think over and even generate more questions. So, as they help, that is the Holy Spirit at work. Where they fail, that is my own humanity showing through.

Who does God love?

Q. Does God love gay people?

Yes. He also loves liars (Jacob), adulterers (King David), murderers (Moses), cheaters, and those who are addicts. He loves you, me, and the President of the United States. He loves us all, even though we are all sinners. We all look at our brothers and sisters in anger. We all speak words that hurt and destroy others. We all look first to our own needs before looking to help others. It is because he loves us that God sent his son into the world to die for our sins. So that we might have eternal life. As the Apostle Paul says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Winter Weather Cancellations

It is our practice to cancel Confirmation and children’s choirs if Cedar Rapids schools are closed or dismiss early due to weather. All other groups, events or services, will meet as scheduled. Use your best judgment. If you don't feel safe going out in inclement weather, stay home. We understand, and so does God. If there are additional cancellations, we will also post them at the top of our website, or you can call the church office to be updated.
